Is it possible to get a second assessment?

I feel like I have ASD I struggled my entire life and when Phychologist got me an assessment saud I had lot of traits to asd during the test they asked about future I said maybe I could have a decent job in the future and possibly a family they stopped the test and said I dont have asd and it has bothered me everytime. I know someone with aspergers he functions better than me and is foimg amazing but apparently ro the experts having a little bit of hope into the future is not possible for people with asd.

  • 1st oart went on fir like 2hrs second part an hour problem is I struggle to answer questions I should have had help with me tbh

  • Wow! There's nothing in the diagnostic criteria that says an absence of hope for the future is a pre-requisit for ASD, although some people with ASD struggle to imagine their future selves.

It also seems odd to me that they'd stop at this point.

How long did the assessment go on? Did they give you any kind of report detailing where they did and didn't feel you fit the criteria?

If this was an NHS assessment, you do have the right to a second opinion. If private, ok it's more expense but I'd be minded to get that doubled checked.

If they still think you aren't on the Spectrum after that, well certainly I would want to know what they do think the problem is and why.
