Loss of time.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I get periods of time loss.  If I am doing something inane such polishing a car, I can all of a sudden stare at it. The next time I look at the clock ten minutes can have elapsed and I have no memory of that time.

I’ve always done it. I spoke to a friend  a few days ago who has Aspergers, he then realised that he has always done it when he is using a computer and doing something boring. Does anyone else have similar experiences?

  • Sounds like zoning out - unless you were locked into thinking about something, and then it would be a thought-loop.

I've had many zoning out moments, sometimes while driving which isn't great - I have driven miles since I was last aware of where I was.  Our subconscious mind can get on with things while our conscious mind takes a break.  Its not specific to autism, its general human thing.
