Stimming

Hello everyone, :)

So this is something I’ve noticed about myself for a while and only noticed it was something to do with my AS which is I hum twice or I’ll  bite my lip and also I’ll  rub my fist together which I do a lot when I’m on my PS4 so it’s like a comfort? I never mentioned this at my diagnosis a years ago as I didn’t think of it at the time, I just want to know if anyone does a similar thing? I know that younger children do this but I’m 32 so I’m not sure?

thanks

scott

  • I chew the inside of my cheeks when I'm watching TV - often don't even know I'm doing it until it starts getting painful!

And I fidget with my hands when I'm in conversation, so when on Zoom calls I keep a rubber thimblette handy (those nobbly things you stick on the end of your fingers to make it easier to separate paperwork) as I can mess about with it out of camera shot.
