Just listening to the Elton John song Rocketman and I'm struck by how much it speaks to what it feels like to be autistic. Im sure its not what he meant when he wrote it but it really does
Its about being an alien somewhere and being ok with that and being at peace in your own company
Its about being in a world where no one undestands you and doesnt see the real you
The line "I'm not the man they think I am at home, I'm a rocketman" really sticks with me.
We're not who the world thinks we are. Maybe we are all rocketmen and women
