Adult diagnosis Qs - newbie looks for advice

Hi there,

Newbie here - hope you're all well and thanks to the NAS for this service.

I'll be honest, the recent press around adult autism (especially in women) rekindled something in me to actually accept some things about me, and seek maybe a diagnosis.

Firstly I hope that this sort of "successful celebrity autism-lite" doesn't become something which belittles people for whom autism perhaps has greater effects on their lives, like living independently and working, etc.

This was also why, until now, I thought I was "okay" with just "knowing in my head" that I aligned with multiple autistic traits throughout all my life.

But as I get older, I see self-destructive items that affect my health/career/life progression. I think I actually need help, which is weird to write down.

The resources on the website look good. I currently short-term live in EU (from UK) - does anyone know whether I could still get assessment on the NHS?

all best wishes
