I’ve never been great at social situations, but now it’s worse than ever. Pre Covid it was quite straightforward. Generally, shake another guys hand, little hug and pick on the cheek for women. Fine, I got that. Then lockdown happened and it was don’t touch anyone. Ok! Easy!
Now though, some people shake hands, some people touch elbows, some people don’t want contact at all. Add to that your own opinions, and I have no idea what I’m supposed to do now. The reason for the post, is that recently we met a group of friends and I found that everyone was different. We were the last to arrive, so went in met first person, nothing, next person, straight in with the handshake, next person comes at me with an elbow (for a second I thought they were going to hit me!) Then when you talk to people. Some social distance some don’t etc, etc
I was exhausted after just trying to work out the varying social etiquette. Aaahhhh
