How long was your NHS diagnostic report?

I’ve looked at mine again and it seems so short. I don’t know what is the standard and maybe 6 pages is the norm (I’ve got 6 pages plus first page and one page of recommendations/links).

I’ve expected something more in depth. They had pages of notes by the end of my assessment. It is a bit disappointing because I thought I would learn more about myself. 

But I guess it doesn’t really matter. Only the result matters.

  • Diagnostic report?  I only got a diagnostic letter.  And it barely made it to the second side.  When I told the autism team that I felt shortchanged, they simply said that, in their experience, many people found the report to be too overwhelming and contain too much information, so they discontinued.  But I think it's really to do with pressure on the service and that might also be the case with a shortened report.  

    That said, much depends upon the quality of the information.  Could you send them a query list to get more information on the areas where you thought you'd learn more about yourself?  I did have theopportunity to ask questions for up to 6 weeks after the diagnostic appointment but unfortunately I didn't because my head was all over the place.  

    Overall, I wish they'd standardise
