This is a bit of fun utopian fantasy, with a serious note. After all, fantasy can often point to reality, and what needs to be done, even if some of the fantasy is superfluous, and could not be attained. So let's imagine..........
All houses would be detached, with a peaceful, tranquil garden. The only noise would be jovial bird song, and the air would be clean and fresh, calming the senses. No cars would pass through the village, just one bus, which would operate twice an hour, after 10am and no later than 7pm. The bus would always be on time.
The houses would be fortified with super strong sound insulation, so that genuine privacy and solitude could be attained.
A library, museum, and art gallery would be within walking distance of each house, along with a quiet village store, and several tea-rooms.
