I'm not sure if they can make your child do half days. what year is your child and why do the school want them to do half days?

I'm not sure if they can make your child do half days. what year is your child and why do the school want them to do half days?

He's just started Reception. He's been there 3 days, only for half a day, and they have decided he can't cope with a full day. 

Surely we need to try a full day and see how he manages. They don't know him yet and I feel that they are putting everything he does down to autism. He's 4 years old.

The main reason they say is lunchtime and not having enough staff.
