Accuracy of online tests

Sorry, my first post on here was rather a wall of random thoughts, so I thought I'd break things down into smaller chunks as I attempt to discover if I have some form of autism

One of the reasons why I think I may are my results on online tests, quizzes etc. For example I tool the online test at this site...

https://psychology-tools.com/test/autism-spectrum-quotient

On this test I scored 39 out of 50 which suggests I have significant autistic traits. But, how accurate are these online tests? - does a score of 39 on the test genuinely mean there is a possibility I'm on the spectrum or is this kind of test more or less worthless?

  • The tests are indicative, but not entirely accurate. I completed one 50 question test and got 'borderline high-functioning autism', but on another 50 question test received a score indicating 'severe autism traits'. I did eventually receive a clinical diagnosis of ASC, however.
