Distractions please!

My counsellor blocked my email address 6 days ago because she can't give me the help I need anymore and I've been sending her too many emails (out of anxiety, sort of compulsively looking for reassurance)

To be honest I'm feeling pretty broken but I'm looking for as many positive distractions as possible to help me get through this time

So far... the Simpsons is sort of helping

  • I agree with the activity approach, as you're expressing a need to say something, to externalise. Just sitting there receiving isn't going to meet that. As a sociologist, this has to be a time of change, and attunement's going to be critical. Do some people-watching, perhaps. Are they wary? Jumpy and over-assertive? What needs are there?
