Dexterity issues

I was wondering how common this was among autists here. For some reason I've always had trouble with this.

It goes back to learning to use a knife and a fork as a young child. It took me a hell of a long time and even once I was able to cut up food to a reasonable standard, I still had difficulty. To this day, any object that requires small movements or manipulation of tiny parts bugs me. Stuff like tying knots confuse me too. And forget DIY.

Anyway, I'm prepared for it to just be a 'me' thing but I thought I'd ask anyway.

  • not sure, i dont think i tie my shoes the way other people do, everyone else ties them weirdly and in a confusing muddled up way while i tie them simply and easier to follow and probably actually more efficient than the regular weird loopy way that im amazed even stays tied.

but there was one time in high school in graphics class or maybe woodwork i dunno i forget one of the technical ones like that, i was doing some lame project and needed to cut a round shape, a small circle, probably was graphics and so it was probably cardboard and using a stanley knife... yeah i couldnt cut it perfectly round with a stanley knife at all, i dunno if its even possible or if i was being trolled by the teacher, he made me do it over and over again until i flipped and tossed the entire project out and told him to sod off and said ill do something else rather than that lol
