Hi guys
Does anyone have Alexithymia but have a major emotional sensitivity to movies?
I seem to have trouble identifying how I feel during real life events, but cry very easily when watching tv.

[NB I'm not that conversant with Alexithymia as a standalone diagnosis - emotional dysregulation I definitely do know about]
I can empathize greatly with characters in books and movies - IE I feel the emotions they ought to be feeling / portraying and I cry / elate etc
BUT
In a clinical setting, more than occasionally I am asked things like "what does 'happy' feel like?" - I am dumbfounded and have to take on board a load of prompts and generally just say whatever they lead me into (and in retrospect wonder if what I said bears any relation to my lived experience....)
