Condition or disability?

I know I am Autistic, that's not up for discussion, but I'm not sure about the disability thing. Yes it makes life difficult sometimes, I don't like to travel on my own, I have some unpleasant mental health situations sometimes, caused by the challenges of my Autism, I can't sleep if I watch anything too exciting after 8pm, my legs twitch if I don't nap, I am disturbed by things that most people don't even notice, but I don't like the term, it is final, normal people are able, but you? you're disabled!

I like to see it as part of who I am, it's a condition I have to live with, as I have for the last 68 years. I don't need an artificial leg, I do have good eye sight. I don't need Disability Living Allowance, but Personal Independent Payments do come in useful.

I also feel that I have benefits from being able to see patterns that NTs don't, I have abilities too, I do however have a complete lack of ability in the executive function department and so can't profit as much as others would from my abilities.
