Support Worker

Good day today. Met with my autistic support worker for the first time. Great conversation about some of the physical and environmental obstacles I am dealing with due to autism. Really felt listened to and understood. Made a couple of health referrals to address some of the physical problems that autism brings to the party, so feeling a lot more confident about the future. Does anyone else have positive experiences with autistic support workers?

Thanks, Aidie. The people who diagnosed me where superb as well. Up to now, everyone has been super supportive. The only downside has been the length of time I've had to wait to access every service.

Thank you, BJS. I didn't really think I needed support until I met with them! But during the conversation, the tears started to flow as I realised how much I'd been keeping bottled up inside, and how much I'd been coping with on my own.
