Power of Faith

I’ve read so much about judgements and blame on here so I’d like to share how faith helps me and how I judge without placing blame on people, I just hold people accountable for their own choices.

Faith is oppositional to fear, and fear is the source of all our evil, bad and wrong doings. By exercising faith it’s easier to overcome our fears and to not judge people, and separate the people from their actions. The fact that darkness arises from fear we can know that someone doing something bad is already victimised by fear, would it be good of us to add? Since fear has taken control of them it’s the fear we’re judging, not the person.

So many wealthy people get accused as greedy for keeping so much to themselves. Greed is evil so who’s being judged as greedy is in fear, they most likely are afraid that if they give money to others they’ll run out, and not survive. Bullies get judged as nasty and prideful people, negative pride is evil so we know they’re in fear. Bullies often feel lonely and worthless failures on the inside, they fear they’ll never improve so they possibly think there’s no better option to feel better, that they can’t think of another way. People who mock minorities may fear that they will be mocked if they don’t decide to be different. Every action that is evil can be traced back to the doer’s fear.

People who have faith in themselves and an allegiance to righteousness will know how to be a righteous judge, not be blinded by emotions and thoughts, will not have a condemning heart to blame people, will be merciful and forgiving, will be patient and compassionate. Eventually it will develop from kindness to love, and love casts out all fear that will help them overcome the fear causing evil temptations.

  • Fear also prevents people from walking into a lion enclosure at a Zoo and being eaten. Faith wasn't so helpful with that. It has it's uses, like everything else. Fear is neither good or bad. It's simply a mechanism, part of the fight or flight response.

  • Fear doesn’t prevent people walking into a lion enclosure, common sense prevents it and that’s why people don’t fear it, ask people to tell you what they fear and no one will bring that up.

When you’re living in reality the fight or flight response never occurs, only those who have perceptions and think they have an idea of reality have the fight or flight response. The truth is, no one including I have an idea what reality is nor ever will. If you had an idea of reality one minute ago that idea is no longer real, reality changed since then and it changes every single moment.

Why don’t I feel offended when assaulted do you think? Because I have not held on to the perception that assault is supposed to feel offensive, I dropped all the perceptions I were taught. Why do people fear things that other people don’t fear? Because the people who fear it were taught to be afraid of it, they held on to those perceptions so they still fear it.

  • yes  this is Zen thinking. Mindfulness ( Living and Meditation )  is a major practice of  Zen.  I am still learning all about mindfulness from various Buddhist and secular books/texts. Still a long way to go for me Slight smile
