Safety outside

One of the reasons I struggle to go out along with the physical issues and my brain bro functioning to get me through a journey is  going out gives me lack of safety. I am not aware as quickly what is going on around me and where I am going specifically at times. my only way to get through the journey is going on my own world. I sort of go into it. I lose track of where I am supposed to go and it makes me susceptible to people who notice that I have ‘my head in the clouds’ so I’m told and I worry about my safety. What are your thoughts, everyone? Today is not a great day for me x

  • you are autistic right ?

lets assume you are Slight smile

you clearly process things slowly and are noticed by faster people around you. Were a baseball hat with a peak at front and keep your head down as you walk but always look out for trouble and avoid it.

if u do go out stick to well known routes

learn ow to read and use maps (paper ones) and carry a small map of your area at all the times. ave your home marked on it so u can point to it if anyone needs to know or if u need help.

gradually expand where u go and expand you printed map to match

text people u know  to say were u are going if u can,,,, so they can keep an eye on u

  • We cannot completely eradicate risk. However, we can take precautions.

The things we were taught as kids - how to cross the road, say no to strangers, treat others with respect - seem to be forgotten in this world. However, those things I grew up with are helping me in the big wide world.

I haven't been to Belfast since last December. However, I learned enough from the wisdom of others to keep my wits about me.
