I have to be honest I'm really *** at dealing with my meltdowns. I loose control of everything and usually just have to wait until its over. I go from a perfectly functioning person who is in driving their own brain to someone who is in the passenger seat watching the car crash happen helpless to do anything. I would like to try to get a collection of effective strategies other autistic people might have on here to see if I can use any of them because its an extremely unpleasant and traumatising experience to have as you all know and I want to start to try to reduce the impact they have on me if I can with your greatly appreciated help if possible. The only strategies I have are going into a room on my own and staying there then using the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 technique which doesn't last long for me.
