A New Chapter

Hey Everyone!

I'm fresh and new to the group.

After a 2 year wait, I finally got a diagnosis confirmation today.

2 years feels like nothing on top of the previous 40 years of feeling a misunderstood misfit in a world of strange beings, with senses being constantly overloaded, however from today's diagnosis,  it feels like a huge weight has been lifted and I can begin to understand myself and the world around me.

To all those struggling to get a diagnosis or waiting for a diagnosis,  hang on in there.  If the waiting feels too much and like it's taking too long, give them a nudge. Absolutely nothing to lose.

Agree wholeheartedly. Despite the stuff I struggle with, knowing I'm on the spectrum has been life changing. My history, my present struggles, my exhaustion with people (or just life in general), even my overwhelming sense that the only company I need is my cat all slotted into place.

    Welcome aboard.
