Specific recommendations for private clinics

Does anyone have any specific recommendations for private clinics providing adult autism assessments? I'm feeling very overwhelmed by the number of clinics I'm finding on Google, and finding it difficult to evaluate which clinics would be a good option.

My specific concerns are that they actually specialise in adult diagnosis, and that they take time to talk to their patients beyond simply giving them a questionnaire. I worry that certain aspects of myself (anxiety, depression, having lived with my difficulties long enough that I have strategies to mitigate them) may frustrate diagnosis.

So far the Effra Clinic (https://effraclinic.co.uk/) looks promising. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

  • To follow up on this -  I received my diagnosis from the Effra Clinic a few days ago. My experience with them was overall positive and I'm happy I went with them. I'll flag that the waiting list is longer than the website suggests. I first approached them at the end of April, so it's taken about 5 months in total. Though one of those months was waiting-and-seeing if it would be possible to have an in-person assessment rather than over Zoom.
