What are your favourite albums of all time?

We're sorting our music collection right now into 'keep' and 'dump' piles - it's amazing how many albums we'll never, ever listen to again.    It's interesting to see how many are in the dump pile. 

I can relate to that. Most music doesn't hold up well over time, from repeated listening. There are also a lot of bands and singers who release one or two good songs but not a consistently good album.

Yeah - some stuff I really loved - 40 years ago - but now I'm so sick of it I'd never play it again - like Soft Cell - Tainted Love - hate that record now!  .

i have indicated a strong liking of a Joe Walsh album below, but I'd also like to also say that if there is a song I now thoroughly detest it is "Hotel California". It is constantly overplayed, where I live, by people who seem to think it is a celebration of the West Coast lifestyle. I detest it it even though it at least has the decency to highlight the numerous pitfalls of the muso world. Arghh! Nightlife and playboyism be damned!
