Housing

Hi everyone.

Been thinking about it a lot recently and I don't know what I would do about housing in the future. I'm 28 and still living at home and cared for by my mum and I know she's not gonna be around forever. I don't know a single thing about housing and stuff like that. I don't work due to my condition and have no friends or partner and just don't know where to go in my life.

  • Hey, thanks for the reply.

Basically i'm 30 in just over a year and just want to be more independent. Can do some stuff on my own, like i could probably cook for myself if i learnt a bit and practiced, could do my own shopping, just don't know where or what sort of place i'll be able to live. As i said, i have no job and on benefits so don't know how i'll afford my own place, also have no friends or partner i'll be able to share a place with.

  • If there's something you want-you should go for it.

I tend to dive in & allow myself to be confused/make mistakes/learn & sometimes repeat lol.

Even though I've been "living on my own" since 17...."life-ing" or "adulting" will always have moments of being overwhelming to anyone with ASD.

Recently, started thinking about my household like a business & catering it me/husband.

We hate doing dishes....so everything we own pretty much can fit into 1 load in dishwasher. Cooking---start thinking about what YOU like to eat. We repeat about 5 meals & we don't care.

Streamline everything you can.Grocery delivery---so I can avoid the grocery store. Point is...thinking & putting stuff on paper in my philosophy puts the wheels in motion in the universe to what you want.
