To school or homeschool

My daughter is high functioning ASD. She appears to enjoy school when she’s there but really has over load when back at home. After being back to school post lock down for two weeks, which she has been buzzing about chatting all the way home, we’ve had two horrendous weekends of total disregulation and aggression. She always says she doesn’t want to go in but usually comes home very happy ( initially). She’s only 9 and I worry how we can deal with her outbursts as she gets bigger and stronger. It’s also really effecting my 7 year old. Any advice, experiences welcome.

  • Secondary school gets alot worse. if you are having problems now i would start seriously checking out all options .

I have done both with my older children they went though school, college and uni . It was extremely difficult always problems ,i think if we had not moved so much she would of been kicked out of school several times .

My younger children 2 who are asd i homeschool ,i tryed school and it broke down and wasn't suitable..

Looking back home schooling would of been better for the older ones ,they can develop into themselves better ,less pressure ,and when they do spread there wings they are more whole rather than trying to be someone  else .

The older ones have lost there relationship with each other because of all the internal fighting caused by the stress of school.

If you look at what you have wrote and follow it through to its natural conclusion you see what can happen.

Home school ,then when ready either a good private school or special school or college ,that would be my advice every time .
