Seizures

Hi I'm new here! My daughter is 17 diagnosed at 16. She has many unusual behaviours and has meltdowns, shutdowns and panic attacks but recently have noticed a new episode which starts with hysterical laughter, its all weird and different to any of her usual presentations. I understand that this can be a form of seizure. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance

  • I have found my self laughing in times of deep depression. Laughing with frustration or despair at the world in which we live and its abject brokenness. Laughing at how absurdly stupid the world is. I suppose you might call it tragic laughter, given they say tragedy is close to comedy. I would be hesitant to assume it a seizure ... but it doesn't hurt to raise the possibility with a suitably trained medical professional.
