Seizures

Hi I'm new here! My daughter is 17 diagnosed at 16. She has many unusual behaviours and has meltdowns, shutdowns and panic attacks but recently have noticed a new episode which starts with hysterical laughter, its all weird and different to any of her usual presentations. I understand that this can be a form of seizure. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance

  • hello !

i do the exact same i'm low functioning ASD. the extreme laughter i do when i am struggling to understand the environment and people are being slightly pushy towards me such as my mental health nurse or carer. this did cause me to be placed in a mental hospital at the time.

however i also struggle with collapsing and convulsions we are still trying to determine whats causing this whether its due to emotional stressors i.e emotional epilepsy or epilepsy in itself.

id say the best thing to do is write out her behaviors, what may have caused it etc. then tell the psychiatrist, nurse, doc. etc.
