Finding Purpose in life

Me too. Looking for purpose and not regret. Growing old and losing ability is not good. Games, musical instrument, stoics, routines

I think a big problem is people denying their inner child - all the toys you played with and all the fun you had as a child seems to be beyond them now.

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago - I got Buckaroo and Ker-Plunk & Wii Sports Resort - I'm building lots of Airfix models and I'm having as much fun as possible - in between clearing the garage, sorting out all my tools and playing with my Lego - and project-managing the extension build.

You all seem to want a big question answered but without stopping to smell the roses.    You only get one life - find some enjoyment - even if you risk people labelling you as childish.

We love toys - my daughter just got Pop-Up Pirate for her 22nd birthday.

Glad to find someone else who likes toys. I'm used to being called weird and so have stopped mentioning it. You've just made my day.

Thank you so much, this is fantastic advice, I'm trying to find time for other things like writing and reading again as well as my gaming but sometimes I just want to splodge and play a game, because even though it achieves nothing and brings me no closer to any of my goals, its just fun and enjoyable, and thats important in life

I'm loving the Wii Frisbee game with the dog. 

I LOVE to build sandcastles - I'm old enough to have seen lots of real castles so I can do a PROPER job of my creations!

It's mandatory to get older but growing up is optional.  

Wii Sports Resort is one of my favourite games of all time!

I think play is so important for a happy, healthy life. I still love playing all sorts of games, from Animal Crossing to D&D to Hungry Hippos. I still love Lego, making things with clay, playing instruments, writing and reading pulp novels. I even still sit and make sandcastles at the beach if I get half a chance. I still find it all fun, but so many of my friends don't understand. I don't get why though. As far as I see it, fun keeps you feeling young, it is by far the quickest route to being creative and inspired and, like you said, you only get one life, why not enjoy it?!
