Eating problems

I have problems with eating and it's not because I don't want to eat. I wish I could. Eating is often just like hell for me, my texture problems make me constantly gag (and no I don't really have safe food, all food can cause problems for me, just some more than others) and it's unbearable. It makes me have to give up eating foods even when I like them. It's also embarrassing in public or I worry about offending somebody if they cooked it for me.

My one preference is for sweets and I have the least problem with them but they're not very nutritious and they don't count as a meal.

Most people do enjoy eating food and I'm very jealous... does anybody else have this problem?

  • Yes, I can relate. I can also very easily taste iron in food to the point where I can taste it in fortified cereals & drinks, I gave up meat a long time ago, I now take a supplement which is much more tolerable. I have very few places that I eat out & only go to specific locations where I know they pay more attention to food preparation. I never ever finish my last bites of food as the texture is unbearable, everything merges into one sloppy mess. I predominantly prepare all my meals, mostly from scratch ie. make my own sauces, soups, breads, cashew cream, soy milk etc. Learning how to cook from scratch has saved my relationship with food. I also plan to take that one step further & grow all my own produce, then learn to can & jar preserves.
