Assessment date confirmed

I've just had my assessment date confirmed for next month and even though I've waited nearly a year and a half for this date to come through I am now completely confused on how I am feeling - is this common?

I have been pretty certain a diagnosis would explain everything but now it is coming up I am questioning myself over everything.

Can anyone tell me what I am to expect? I've been told I will get a pack through the post with all the details of who I am seeing and how to access it online ect but my minds been all over the place since I was told when it will be.

  • it is always a 'mixed feeling' situation when u are called for the assessment. There is no real way you can prepare. Bring a tin of coke/fanta etc  just to give yourself a wee boost.   I dont know which way they are going to assess you, but believe me they are probably the nicest people you will ever meet as they are genuinely interested in autism people. They understand and work with autistic people all the time so they are your friends/allies. They will know if you are autistic or not and maybe spot other things ( if they exist ) they can help you with.

    please do not worry you will be taking to people who understand you completely
