Life?! Help :o

Hi folks, my name’s Ellie and I’m new here :)

I was wondering whether any of you have had or are having similar difficulties to me. And if so, do you have any advice you could give me?

I’m really worried for myself and how the hell I’m going to survive in the world, especially regarding income and housing. At the moment I live with my parents which is difficult but I have no other choice and plan on doing for quite some time. I study complementary therapies but unfortunately I’ve hit a brick wall with it as there are no employment opportunities near to where I live. I can’t drive and don’t ever want to drive for safety reasons and for it just being entirely overwhelming! Long distance public transport isn’t really an option either because it’s super expensive and I live in a village where public transport isn’t regular.

So i’m wondering how do you folks get by regarding housing, travel and income?

  • Hi Ellie

Living with parents can be hard work - nature wants us to fly the nest and create our own lives - but living at home has lots of advantages - it's cheap!

If your parents have a big enough back garden, would it be worth building one of those mini-offices there so you can escape from people for most of the day - and depending on its construction, nights too?   It might give you the distance and seclusion without having to move out.

It might also be configured as a place where you can run a complementary therapy business.
