ADOS2 Online Assessment

Hello.

I had an online ADOS2 assessment today and I’m really unsure how it went and whether I did or said the correct things. I practiced a lot of things I wanted to say/tell but I ended up not saying any of them because I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate. Now I feel that if I don’t get a positive diagnosis I will have messed it up as I really do believe I am autistic. I’m just terrible at advocating for myself.

I still have a clinical interview to go, though I’m not sure what that involves or if that’s part of the assessment or where they tell me their opinion?

What should I do?

Parents
  • attend everything asked of you and answer their questions.  You wont know until it is all over.  Consider everything to be part of the assessment.

    write down these

    1. Make a list of reasons why u think u are autistic.
    2. include relatives in your family who are autistic or adhd or called weird/different
    3. and a list of occasions when u have been called weird, autistic, different

hand your letter to the assessors saying "here is why i think I am autistic"  put that as the title at top of page if u want. It will ensure nothing is missed.

    Thats all you can do
