i was diagnosed as an adult heres the path I followed

extra tips :

Make a list of reasons why u think u are autistic.

include relatives in your family who are autistic or adhd or called weird/different

and a list of occasions when u have been called weird, autistic, different

the list should be electronic ie so you can email it to anyone who wants it.

I was assessed / diagnosed ASD as an adult, although I had self-diagnosed long before. I think you should talk to your GP first, if you haven't already. Think about what you want to say, write a brief  list of why you feel you may be ASD,  talk it through with the doc and see how it goes. I  went private, which is expensive but much quicker than the NHS, very much quicker. Check with the doc about the waiting time in your area, I think it varies.

Hey Huw, i was diagnosed as a kid, but if you either scroll through the old post or use the search tool you'll find lots of previous posts talking about this issue and with lotsof experiences and good advice. Have you tried the Autism Quotient test online? That's a good starting point and statistically pretty robust.
