16 year old ASD

Hi there, my daughters anxiety and social shyness is at an all time low. Covid isn’t helping and she won’t attend college. We are so worried about her mental health and her future. She doesn’t think she can cope with the online college work. Please does anyone know our options. She isn’t at a stage in her life where she is confident enough to get an apprenticeship. Does anyone know our options or can give any guidance please. Cahms waiting times are at an all time wait and there seems to be no help available:(

I'm really sorry to hear that your daughter has been struggling with her mental health. If you were interested in counselling (NHS & private) for your daughter, you may like to have a look on the Autism Services Directory: http://www.autism.org.uk/directory under 'Health' & 'Counsellors'

If there are no counsellors in your area on the directory, you may like to try the links suggested at end of this web page:

You may like to contact our Transition Support service, who offer advice, support and information to young autistic people aged 14 years plus and their parents or carers on the transition to adulthood.
