Before Assessment

Hey! I'm 45 and I think I may have Aspergers. I really want an assessment, but it's a lot of money and I'm a student right now (or trying to be with corona). Does anyone have any advice of people/places I could go to maybe find out a little more about it (and the likelihood I have it) before spending money I don't directly have on an assessment (currently 18 month wait on the NHS).

    I’m not sure what your budget is, and I’m not prying about that, here. However there is a psychologist with over 25 years experience in Calgary, Alberta who offers adult assessments for what I understand is quite a competitive rate. The psychologist is currently conducting assessment sessions remotely due to COVID-19 so perhaps the psychologist would be able to accommodate you, notwithstanding the distance between you. 

    I’m not sure whether a Canadian-based diagnosis will be helpful to you in the UK, and I suspect that would be something to explore first, before potentially pursuing this. But if this interests you, please feel free to send me a direct message and I will give you the psychologist’s contact information.
