Adult online learning or online hobby classes for an AS adult

Hi all

I'm a carer for an AS adult in his 50s.  He lives with me and my partner.  We live in London.  Apart from his autism, he has a stammer and so verbal communication can be a challenge for him too, although he manages. I'd say he is low to medium functioning, so he is not very academic.

At the moment he is stuck at home on furlough (we are on tier 4/lockdown) and I don't think he will be back at work for a few months.

Can anyone suggest any useful online learning ideas, that would help keep him busy and, ideally, engaged with other people?  Anything where he learns a new hobby or skill would be good.  If there is a fee involved, I could pay it for him.

If you have any ideas, please fire away!

Paul

  • Hi - I'm a mid-50s aspie and I do Technical Lego models - normally trucks with lots of working features - there's loads of videos on youtube of other people's work and how they solve things to make their models function - but whatever he takes a shine to, there's lots of on-line input..      It might be worth taking a look at a few of the videos to see if it's something that might float his boat.

There's lots of Lego enthusiast websites and forums too.
