How do you say this year?

Hello everyone it’s a new year but something really irritates me and it’s how people say the year I say it’s twenty twenty one I’ve heard some people say two thousand and twenty one I know it’s not important but it really irritates me when someone says two thousand and twenty one.

How do you say this year? Twenty Twenty one or two thousand and twenty one?

  • Greetings. Yes, I used to be here very often. No, I am not here as often as I used to be. Yes, Pay attention to how other people/majority say certain things such as "twenty twenty one" and copy that person. No, You need not ingrain such things into Yourself. YES, I would say watch TV/official news broadcasts and hear how *they* say it...

Some things Apart from all of that.

1 - I Myself waited almost 20 Years, just to find out how 'the majority' would classify Year 2000 - 2009, and they say "The Noughties". Then Year 2010 - 2019, and they say "The Tens"...!

2 - How to commonly pronounce numbers like this is a lot like BUSES & Bus Numbers. Listen to how others pronounce it & take it into consideration. (In London, the Bus number is said anyway.) Usually it is the shortest spoken way, but not always. Go with the majority when addressing the majority, I say.

     Slight smile Have fun.
