Burnout

Do you have any tips to recover from an autism burnout?

Parents
  • Re-grounding and connecting with the simple things. Making sure I tend to physical needs first. Resting to music (or a metronome which I find strangely soothing) helps.

Making work aware and distancing myself from non-essential things, or things liable to cause me additional stress.

    Limiting activities that are draining.

Re-tuning to my emotions (Acceptance Commitment therapy helps with this).

Try and find something I can get absorbed in- otherwise I have a very overactive mind, even though I feel physically exhausted.
