Talking about Memory and Learning

Hello everyone!

The last days I have had some questions in my head and I would be happy, if you have time and space to answer them :)

How good is your memory?

Mine is really bad, which makes learning new languages extremely difficult. Therefore I was wondering if any of you guys are also struggling with that.
Do you have anything that helps you learn more effectively?
And what do you do to stay focused?

I also am not so good with remembering faces. Or who said what.
Can you relate? Also what helps you remembering?

I would also like to hear your stories regarding that topic :)
Thank you for reading and answering!

  • yes I am like you I always wanted to learn Italian but couldn't no matter how hard I tried. I have memory issues as well. The downside of this is if things are constantly changing as in the IT industry it can make you anxious u are falling behind

Up side is I can forget dramatic/ trauma causing events and carry on without issue.

I could never be an actress and learn lines for example.

  • "candle staring" meditation helped increase my concentration  and notice when my ADHD mind suddenly switches elsewhere.  I have Dyslexia as well so I read differently in that a word  shape is very important to me.

writing things i need to be memorised  is the only thing that worked for me eg for exams

3 times is the optimal apparently.
