Talking about Memory and Learning

Hello everyone!

The last days I have had some questions in my head and I would be happy, if you have time and space to answer them :)

How good is your memory?

Mine is really bad, which makes learning new languages extremely difficult. Therefore I was wondering if any of you guys are also struggling with that.
Do you have anything that helps you learn more effectively?
And what do you do to stay focused?

I also am not so good with remembering faces. Or who said what.
Can you relate? Also what helps you remembering?

I would also like to hear your stories regarding that topic :)
Thank you for reading and answering!

  • I'm aspie - I have a photographic memory for facts & data but it has only one layer - each piece of data has no properties linked to it - so things like secrets and lies mean nothing to me - all data is free to be shared widely so I can't hold a list of who the data can be shared with or what can and can't be repeated.

I am unable to remember people - they change their expressions, hair styles, glasses, clothes, moods, voices etc. so there's no fixed point of reference to add to my data bank.

Things with a high emotional content are more easily remembered - non-technical relationship information about aunt Betty and who her friends are does not get remembered.
