Has anyone tried Transcendental Meditation to try and help ASD anxiety and distress?

I’m looking at what can help my distress and am attending a TM event, but suspicious of its costs and limitations. I can’t find any good research evidence for its use in ASD people over the age of 30. Since I know antidepressants are poorly effective in us, I do wonder about TM especially as it is quite expensive  £590 for 4 x 2 hour sessions. Anyone has any experience of it.  Positive or negative?

  • I've tried a fair few flavours of meditation with no appreciable benefit other than having a nice nap (which is good since I really struggle with sleep).

I quite enjoy Deva Premal - especially her sanskrit mantras that she puts to music. My wife & I lie (chastely) side by side in bed... she quietly murmurs/sings along, and I doze off. Very peaceful - and we feel connected. Her voice gives me tingles.
