Just wondering the spookiest story you ever heard or witnessed this time of year
I knew I'd had a brain injury and I'm an engineer so I wasn't frightened - more like fascinated that the chemical imbalance in by brain was allowing my subconscious mind to create a false reality for me in parallel to my conscious mind. I was more interested in finding the edges to see how my brain dealt with the discontinuities and seeing how far my own brain could keep generating a false reality.
It gave me a new perspective on UFO and ghost hunters - if they are convinced that they have seen something, I'll agree with them. There was nothing there, but their brain has convinced them there was. My brain was very efficient at creating falseness - so how real is my reality. If I'm driving on the motorway, do any of the other cars really exist or is my brain creating them - like the person on my sofa or the dog in the hall.....?

...Me again, this is another very very large subject to explore, Mr.Plastic. I would say to keep in mind the words "False Reality" in keeping track of "different realities", basically to remain "grounded" and/or "sane". (...!)
When one thing suddenly appears/disappears, then that means a change to/from "a reality".
Finally... most things (but not all of them) would be perceived when the mind changes "States" e.g. Beta (waking), Alpha (towards sleeping), & Delta & Theta (Unconscious). Very Young Children exist in the Alpha state then grow towards Beta. Sometimes a muscle or sense is "stuck" in another state thus it may percieve matters contrary to the Main state, and everything just has to 'compare notes' and make sense of it all.
...With regards to Your Post, for example, parts of You may perceive below-waking-state stuff, but that does not make it any less real -- just that upon 'fully awakening' the thing disappears.
Again I say that this is another subject to research / study. (Pretty much find what works for Oneself and pursue that further.)
...I really am not good at direct chat/conversation, so I post this & step away, now, that Anyone may make of it what they will. Good Fortune, All, & keep being in whatever state makes You Happy.
