Why nothing is done for Autistic people? The NAS for starters

The NAS own Mendip House, a care home, where Autistic people were stolen from, ridden like horses and made to eat their own vomit.

No one does hypocrisy like the British. Every year giving massive sums to Children in Need and Comic Relief while simultaneously abusing the same people day in, day out.

  • Roswell. I know where you're coming from because the national autism society seems to only focus on young children and those with severe intellectual disabilities, Their programmes such as employment programme do not even operate in the east of england and you call their support number to be told their no help and support available. The national autism Society operate a few care homes near me and the residents are always escaping the care homes so i do know what you are talking about.

But this isn't the first time you've posted out of anger, Your not the only autistic adult who has got it rough, you not the only autistic person who is constantly trying, making the effort to integrate in society to be told you don't qualify for help and support. Your not the only one who keeps falling for the government and charity related programmes that are supposed to help you find employment, housing and general support because honestly i do understand how bad they actually are because i've tried many of them and they are usually poorly run or keep you on their books to get funding for you without actually helping you.

If you want to make a difference why not apply and train to work for the national autism society and make thing better instead of sitting at you computer complaining how hard you have it, because i can tell you there's always someone suffering worse than you.

it's fine if you want a discussion and someone to talk to that what the community page is for but, seriously you have more access to opportunities than most autistic people who live in rural areas and i have read many of you community page posts to recognise that you have far more opportunities in reach than most of us do and you don't even make the effort to apply yourself and expect people to accommodate to your needs instead of trying to reasonable manage your struggles yourself within reason.

I don't mean to so harsh,But your making the community page a negative space for many people, yes we all have use the community page to vent are frustrations time to time but we also use it to see how other like ourselves would of handles the situation and the coping mechanism they use to cope. we also use the community page find people online that we socialise with that understand ourselves and yes the national autism society needs to improve but if it wasn't for the national autism society we would have a platform like this and for myself it makes me feel a little less lonely.

  • You accuse me of making it a negative space here. So YOU make it most positive then. Post stuff that's positive. I don't see you posting much here.
