stress and happiness

I'm job hunting at the moment, and today found an appropriate role that I'd like to do. So I clicked on 'Apply' on the website, filled in my personal details and.. before I could progress I was asked to complete a recaptcha.

12 minutes later it told me I'm not human.

Happily three hours later I had an email from the recruiter telling me that in response to my feedback, they've removed the recaptcha from that form (and are exploring its suitability across the rest of their site). So I got to apply after all.

I won't get the job anyway; 70 applications so far, rarely even getting an interview*, but at least I could apply.

*Not necessarily because of my suitability: one job I applied for had 6000 applicants. Another had 28 people apply in the first two hours it was publicly available. It's a tough market out there.
