Please don't take it personally but I am struggling to focus when reading your post due to long sentences/lack of commas.
So I'm going to type my response 'freehand' and without the constraints of tagging as for one reason or another, I can't seem to get the system to comply with showing your membership number (there are, as I have discovered, quite a lot of people on this forum that have the name Bumblebee so you understand my confusion as to which is which) and the subsequent need for a membership number to distinguish between members called 'bumblebee'.
It seems from this post, that you, quite understandably, have a lot going on in your mind right now and are desperate to find the answers as to what is going on and how you might move things forward in terms of the assessment dates and when this may be done. Unfortunately, from what I have seen and heard from different sources, your situation is not one which is unique and one which many people on this forum, may have experienced in their pathway to diagnosis. I myself am fortunate enough that I was covered by Health insurance that paid for a lot of my assessments for ADHD and ASD through various psychologists and psychiatrists alike, but am unsure if this is something that would happen over here in the UK as I myself was in South America, Brazil when I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome/ ADHD.
Following on from some of the comments that you have said, I understand that you are a bit reluctant to take the medication which has been directed for you take... Would I be able to ask what medication this would be? I see that you have mentioned ADHD and have been worried about 'drugging yourself on a daily basis' but would encourage you to look at all the different options that you have at your disposal before you discard that as a legimate answer to your issue as your doctor must have reasons as to why they would suggest medication as a source of treatment and is something which you should speak to your doctor more to voice your concerns and maybe find a way forward.
I myself take medication for ADHD and can say that it has really helped me in my ability to concentrate and focus on the tasks that I am given. One thing I would say though, is that this is a medication that takes time to get used to. For instance, from personal experience and from what other medical professionals have said to me on the subject, one of the side- affects of the medication I take (Straterra or automoxylin- which are both one of the same drug just in different packaging), does cause nausea. This Nausea isn't too bad once you have found out what you can do to mitigate it (for me this is making sure I eat before taking the medication in the first place which oddly, seems to the trick for me). This is not to say, of course that this medication is right for you, or to scare you off it, rather it is an account of someone that takes the medication and the pros and cons that you have to take up if you were to change your mind or seriously consider the medication.
As always though, I would encourage you to find things that work for you- this may mean having to wait for the official assessment or diagnosis to come through even it is a year or so in the foreseeable future- perhaps then, you may be able to get some closure on this subject and discover what works for you.One final suggest I would like to add before I sign off, is have you tried to speak to the National Autistic Society on the subject of assessment? I'm aware that they have a number for those who are seeking assesment... Who knows? they may even be able to do it at a faster rate or be able to advise you further in this area.
Wish you all the best,
