Telephone assessment

Hi Guys,

Not seen anything specifically similar to my story so I thought I'd ask here.

For some background, last February I went to my GP and voiced my possibility of having aspergers and was immediately reffered no questions asked.  Within a few weeks I had completed my questionnaire and it had been processed and passed to a "3rd party" organisation. After chasing once several deadlines passed, I was told I was on a waiting list at an assessment center and I should have an appointment mid- March. Then corona happened and I pushed it to the back of my mind.

This morning, on a work conference call, I received a call from an unknown number and muted myself to answer and was offered a telephone assessment tomorrow and told it would last about an hour.

What I want to know is, due to covid, would this be my actual assessment and diagnosis or possibly a follow up one? Also what kind of questions will be asked?

I'm under West Midlands/Black Country mental health.

Thanks

  • I'm in Worcestershire, so just the next area over from you so there are probably differences, but I have an initial assessment next week via phone which should be around an hour and a half (or so I've been told).

It's my understanding that the actual assessment would be longer than that and with a longer waiting time.

But if you were referred last year then that would be a really long time to wait for just an initial assessment, but then every area seems to be different so it's hard to say.

I'm guessing you've had the call by now, or at least by the time you see this message, so I hope it went well.
