Care Home survivor

Hello,

I live in a care home.I have autism and live with people with learning problems.I dont belong here as i am academically gifted.I am an artistic savant and have a prodigious memory.I am totally socially inept.I am hated loathed and bullied by staff who do not comprehend my needs.I am left to cope on my own as i push people away.... i am having extreme problems getting food.I do not go out and i have rowed and cancelled support.... my life is unbearable at the best of times as i have roaring Tinnitus Eczema Psoriasis and moderate hearing loss resulting in extreme auditory sensitivity..... i look normal if a little awkward.I walk on my tiptoe and am mocked by the wider general public.I had physio so i could learn to walk a little better.... because i am a male, aloof, well educated and private in habbit i tend to get bullied. During Covid19 lots of new staff come and go. i have prosopagnosia and withe the face masks cant hear what people say and i have no idea who they are... my mental health is very poor and im sleeping on the floor.I dont have a TV and have have very little money since im in care... food is very scarce and i acnt go out to buy any.... TESCO wont prioritise me so i cant do my online shop.

How do i report abuse please? ... staff bully me, threaten me and i am afraid. the staff sit and eat huge KFC takeaways infront of us and the other day i just had a pot noodle. My mum died and staff insulted me when i asked for some quiet time to morn her passing. The hospital cremated her and i wanted to sit in my yard but staff bullied me.. i cant complain because staff and managers are all related and i am scared.

  • Bullying is very toxic ad hard to deal with. Do you think you could get an advocacy worker?

[How can I get an advocate?

There are many organisations offering advocacy to children and young people who are in care, leaving care or need the support of Children’s Services. Coram Voice provides a service called Always Heard (freephone 0808 800 5792 and online www.coramvoice.org.uk/alwaysheard) which supports children and young people with expert independent advice and support to access their local advocacy support. The Always Heard service guarantee that children and young people who are in care, leaving care or needing to be in care who contact them will receive the support of an advocate from their local service or via an Always Heard advocate. ]
