Any remote workers / freelancers on here?

Hello

Like many people, I'm experiencing some "income disruption"... I know I'm good at what I do and have in-demand skills (instructional design) but marketing really isn't my forte and relying only on referrals is too precarious. I would love to know whether anyone else creates their income whilst working 100% (or mostly) remotely. How do you get work? Have you any experience of using freelance marketplaces like upwork, fiverr, worksome, peopleperhour etc? What works/doesn't for you?

many thanks in advance

Daisy

PS I'm a freelancer (set up as a limited company with me as the only employee/director) so I don't qualify for any of the government support for small businesses during covid. I live alone and don't qualify for any disability benefits despite formally diagnosed with ASD, so I need to find a solution.

  • I've just started this in order to earn additional money. The truth about this domain is that you can earn huge amounts of money or you can literally not get any customers at all. I've been looking at people from https://ithire.com/category/ios-developers and I should contact them in order to see if I can find a way of earning money by myself. It's easy to post an announcement, but it's harder to get people to contact you. The final purpose is to quit my current job and rely solely on freelancing, but this is going to take a while if I want to make sure that I will have enough customers
