My boyfriend has Aspergers Syndrome and we’ve been dating for a while now. He lives with his parents, brother and sister in the country and has asked me to move in to his family home. The house is very big and long and the attic would be our living quarters, like bedroom and lounge area. I don’t mind it really but I’m worried about us starting a family in his families’ home. I really do love him and want us to be happy but I’m concerned because it wouldn’t really be our home and what if his parents and family don’t like me? I’ve said before about moving into a small home ourselves but he’s not so good with change and having lost family before he doesn’t want to leave his family, his dad and mum have health difficulties and he helps with house work, gardening and odd jobs which I understand but I just worry that we’ll get in the way if we stay in his home. Especially if his parents don’t like me, I feel his dad doesn’t like me much.
What do you guys think? Should I do I move in?
