Hello Everyone!

Hello,

I am new here. I am 25 and was diagnosed with autism in November last year when I was 24. I am having a difficult time because I was diagnosed and didn't receive any further information but I finally have a follow up appointment via phone next week. I am very nervous because I am not very good on the phone. Does anyone know what this phone call might entail? I hope you are all well during this horrible time, stay safe.

  • Hello, Naomi, and welcome to the forum! Feel free to ask any questions and read my profile. I was diagnosed last year with Level 2 ASD.

I admit that, I too, get nervous on the phone, I prefer either online chat or face to face as I clam up. However, try not to worry too much, the second stage for me was with a psychiatrist who gave me my official diagnosis. It may also be for a check up on how you are doing and maybe a referral to a support group.

Whatever the reason for the call, again, try not to worry too much, as especially in times like this, they need to be able to support all that have been diagnosed in the best way possible.
