Apologies if I am posting in the wrong section  but i would like some advice on the MMR jab.  Do you as parents of children feel that there was a definite link between your child getting the MMR jab and being diagnosed / did you notice a difference after your child had the jab.  I am very unsure whether to get the jab for my child due to the possible link.  thanks

  • there was no mmr jab when my son was due his vaccinations in the mid 80s.  Looking back his autism showed from 3 wks old.  Some of these jabs coincide with milestones in a child's early life.  If something goes wrong + they've recently had the job, some parents blame the jab. Children die of measles or can become disabled in v serious cases.  I had measles, mumps + rubella as a child.  The measles was by far the worst, but the mumps wasn't a barrel of laughs either.  So don't underestimate the consequences of your child contracting measles or of passing it on to other children.  I do understand why you worry about the mmr because of all the publicity in previous yrs.  Dr Wakefield's theory has been discredited.
