Assessment advice please

I know many people say the diagnosis has helped them understand them self better 

Well its well known that Autism is genetic. My son was diagnosed with Aspergers some years ago and it wasn't untll I saw the Channel 4 program "Are you Autistic" and my worsening Anxiety that I put 2 & 2 together :) It's too late to do anything about it now though :)

Thanks for the good wishes. I do want the diagnosis. My daughter has it and it would help make sense of many things for me. 

Yes I see thank you. I'd just like some idea as to what they ll ask as not sure my sibling is the best person to ask (but it's the only person available) 

Fingers crossed then for two weeks. I know how you feel as it took about four weeks to get my "diagnosis" - I got pretty stressed So are you hoping to be diagnosed with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Have you thought what it will mean to you if you are diagnosed ?? :) :)

You probably won't find the test questions available for a couple of reasons. The first is that these kinds of tests used for diagnosis are usually copyrighted, so they can't be reproduced for free. The second is a thing called test security, basically trying to avoid people rigging the results by knowing how the test works beforehand.

I'm not so sure about that. Ive worked with Autistic children and that's not always the case that they'd just take without asking. I have a fortnight till I next meet u the team. V nervous 

The Psychologist should see through the masking. Apparantly, an autistic person will just grab the extra pieces without asking.

So when do you get your result ???

I did ask for extra ones but realise I was too compliant. I didn't like the red ones as they made it look uneven but just put up with it (masking). I can think of a few other incidents of unintentional masking during the test 

I think the test is whether you take the extra pieces, ask for them or stop saying you cant continue due to lack of pieces.

That's weird. Yes I was given only four to start with 

Oddly I was given all the pieces and from I have read, some should have been held back as part of the test. So a bit pointless, although I started fussing as I tried to push all the foam pieces together and they kept bouncing out. I think it was because I was asked to put the shapes within the outline and I was trying to do just that :) I actually put the blue shapes around the edge and filled using the red, it looked better symmetrical!! 

Thanks, interesting. I was just asked to build the puzzle. I wasn't given enough pieces so I asked for four more. Some were red and some were blue but I wasn't clear why. I didn't ask or talk much about it so really not clear what it read meant to show 

Thanks but I'd really like to know what questions are asked. This is more about the efficacy of the test. 

Just remember that they are also observing you all the time and it's a lot of what you don't realise what you are doing, that they pick up. For example I was stimming quite a bit, tapping the table and some of my odd answers to questions I was given were noted. I did the puzzle which was in the shape of a cross and was asked what it looked like. I said a cross then was told some people say its a bird, a plane or a dagger. The story book was some boy having a dream using the items in his room - I didn't have a clue what was going on. Then I was showed a painting of dome families eating outside. I commented that the trees looked like it was set in Tuscsny. I think the normal response is to describe the emotions of the families, which I ignored instead picking out odd details. The story with objects was easier, because I could pick the objects I wanted and had already got an idea when the Psychologist was giving me an example. Even at the end when she gave me a magazine to read (while she was writing up the notes) was a bit of a test?
